Draw the sigil
Meditate over it until it is in your mind's eye
Chant Akyuu 30 times
"Please take me to the /jp/ room, Akyuu.
Please allow me to join in my slumber
And return me upon my wake"
Place piece of paper with sigil on it under your pillow
By falling asleep, if you had made successful connection, you prepare your mind for the transfer over. Do not try this when sleep deprived or suffering an illiness. This kind of thin can cause brief mental instability such as hallucinations, sleep paralysis, nightmares, and/or a lucid nightmare.
If you cannot make a connection, the line is full and you will have to wait until a connection can be made (you will dream normally until a spot open). Death in the dream results in a disconnection from the /jp/ room. Also possible user error will result in being in dark grey room playing scrabble.
Sigil: Sorry for the roughness. Paint was not working too well and my scanner is broken. Anyway, going to bed so this should be up from now. Extended the test for an unknown period of time. Wednesday Night/Thursday Morning will also be a test phase as well.
Edit: If you feel that you connected, can you please leave a comment describing it? It would help a lot.
This may seem a silly question, but how necessary is the sigil?
ReplyDeleteIf I understand their use correctly, they're meant as ways of channeling or focusing energies (interpreted as you will). Would some other means of channeling work as well, or does the sigil itself hold some significance to the actual connection or direction of the dream world?
The sigil itself is for summoning Akyuu to you as you dream. Other than that, there is no real use for it in the overall scheme of things. I am not totally sure on this, but if you picture Akyuu as you meditate and ask to be taken to the /jp/ room, that should work as well.
ReplyDeleteI assume the dream servitor is especially attuned to this sigil, so using it will make the connection easier or something... I wouldn't know though, I have no real experience with this and am just guessing, heh.
ReplyDeleteGoing to try it tonight, here's hoping it'll work.
Don't forget the always-truthful saying:
ReplyDelete"Do or do not. There is not try."
If anyone got in last night, can you share your experiences?
ReplyDeleteI had some experience last night, thought it was interesting.
ReplyDeleteAt some point during the night, I woke up (no idea what time it actually was). Rather then looking at my phone to check the time like I normally would have, I suddenly thought about Akyuu. Not quite the character, but just the name. Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure I was awake when this happened, but suddenly a door opened up in front of me (It seems cliche'd I guess, but there was a bright light coming through it compared to my dark room). I stepped, or more like floated through the doorway, and found myself walking next to Yukari (which seems rather appropriate, given the situation). I didn't actually look at her face, but I knew it was Yukari in that way you inexplicably know things in dreams. I was looking down the whole time because I realized that we were walking across big levitating stones... We were actually way up in the sky. I could see some green fields down below, and a river, some mountain in the distance, etc. There was nothing particularly identifying about the landscape, but I was pretty far away from it. Anyway, I should point out I thought it was also kind of appropriate where we were walking -- I intended to meet Tenshi when I arrived (the stones we walked on were reminiscent of Tenshi's rock, just lots of them lined up in pairs for Yukari and I to walk on).
Sadly, I don't remember anything after that. Neither of us spoke, I never saw Tenshi, or looked up at my immediate surroundings.
It's good to hear that you at least had an experience. Maybe tonight you will see her?
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely try again, depending on how much of "trying" is actually involved.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, I wasn't really thinking when I though of Akyuu (if that makes any sense).
Other half of it is probably my lack of concentration. I actually sort of forgot I was going to attempt this last night before going to sleep. I'm sure if I concentrated on it more, something might happen.
Well, sadly I failed last night. No connection that I can recall. Now that the weekend's here I might have an easier time concentrating (I've been forcing myself to go to sleep at certain times because of work). Of course, if you're willing to keep this maintained, I'll keep working with it and let you know if/when any experiences like the first one happen.
ReplyDeleteIt will be ongoing for as long as possible until there is no interest left.
ReplyDeleteI tried this last night... I can't really tell for sure if it worked or not, as I had to woke up in a hurry and couldn't remember anything at all of my dreams.
